Genetec brings automatic licence plate recognition (ALPR) directly into Security Center, treating a vehicle's licence plate as just another access control credential - on a par with a card or a biometric code.
The most obvious use case: car parks
In a car park managed by Security Center, the entry barrier can open automatically for vehicles whose licence plate is recognised as authorised, with no need for a physical card or human intervention - with the entire event logged and correlated with video from the recognition camera, on the same platform.
Beyond car parks
The same mechanism applies to vehicle access control on corporate campuses, gated communities or industrial areas with frequent vehicle traffic, and can be combined with hotlists (flagged vehicles) for automatic security notification when a specific licence plate is detected.
Why integration matters
Without this integration, licence plate recognition operates as a separate system, requiring the operator to cross-reference events from two different platforms manually. Within Security Center, it is a credential like any other, managed under the same access policies as the rest of the system.
